Ab McDonald Arena
📍 Winnipeg, Manitoba 🇨🇦
Great Canadian Rink Tour

Another memorable stop on the Great Canadian Rink Tour, the historic Ab McDonald Arena honours one of Manitoba’s greatest hockey ambassadors. Located inside the St. James Civic Centre, the arena was renamed in recognition of Winnipeg hockey legend Ab McDonald — a four-time Stanley Cup champion, the first captain of both the Pittsburgh Penguins and the original Winnipeg Jets, and the player who scored the first goal in Jets history.
This community rink has been a gathering place for generations of hockey players, families, and fans. It’s a reminder that while the game is played on the ice, the memories are built in the stands, dressing rooms, and hallways along the way.
